Position Description – Project Manager

Breakwater Vantage is currently seeking a Project Manager to join our growing team of professionals. The position will be based out of our Calgary office. We are seeking a specialist who is highly motivated, independent, and committed to working with a diverse group of people.
The successful candidate will have an integral role in leading the planning, design, and construction of a variety of sustainable infrastructure. The successful candidate will also provide guidance to a multi-disciplinary team of professionals on several diverse projects that could be occurring concurrently and will be responsible for producing technical work within their respective discipline.
Responsibilities:
Leadership style adapts as necessary to maintain team morale and collaboration to meet client and project objectives.
Will quickly develop an excellent understanding of project outcomes, resourcing needs, client needs, and financial and quality management requirements.
Build effective networks and working relationships with key stakeholders – both external and internal.
Provide engineering, technical, and advisory services to clients for specific projects in respect to water and wastewater engineering.
Develop and strengthen existing skills and deliver engineering projects in accordance with client requirements and in-line with company and industry best practice.
Undertake internal technical reviews and verification checks on analysis, reports, designs and associated advice.
We are seeking an specialist and the successful candidate will be providing technical input into engineering and design including budget, schedule, and technical codes and standards (TC&S).
Work will include Pre-FEED with scouting, selection, alternative analysis, layouts, regulatory planning and interface with operations. FEED project will include material procurement, vendor qualification, cost estimating, bid evaluation, execution strategy, HDD crossing design, design reviews, HAZOPS, risk assessments, Geotech execution, stress analysis, managing contractor interface and detailed regulatory execution. Detailed Engineering project experience interfacing with vendors and contractors, supporting project management of change (MOC), request for information (RFI) and lessons learned.
Provide services in Health, Safety and Environment Management, Process Safety and Safety Engineering, Regulatory and Compliance, Security and Risk Management, Project Management, and the provision of skilled personnel for operations across a range of industries, including oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, utilities, energy and construction.
Establish cost estimates for projects.
Create Scopes of Work in accordance with Breakwater Vantage standards.
Assign projects to field staff and initiating the fieldwork.
Implement corporate and client safety programs.
Review and interpret laboratory analytical results.
Ensure all field work has been documented and uploaded to site specific files by the field staff assigned, ensure all required documentation (including safety documentation), and analytical has been reviewed and is correct.
Accurately track and manage project costs and reporting process.
Provide monthly updates on projected targets and actual costs to the senior management.
Work with the billing’s supervisor and or billings assistant to complete final invoicing.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and SOPs are completed as regularly required and all safety documentation is forwarded to HSE from field staff.
Educate field professionals of any hazards and provide hazard controls.
Remain current with environmental legislation and regulatory updates, provide updated information as it becomes available to staff.
Review completed reports for accuracy and formatting.

Position Requirements:
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited University specializing in engineering and water treatment, is preferred.
Minimum 10 years applicable experience in industry or the consulting sector, with a minimum of 5 years solid technical experience.
Ensure safety and reliability.
Plan and work together with clients, contractors, consultants, and other engineers to ensure effective and desirable outcomes.
Communicate technical information to suppliers, contractors, or regulatory agencies.
Discuss designs or plans with clients. Design processing plants and related systems.
Design industrial processing systems.
Prepare detailed work plans. Supervise processing or manufacturing operations.
Proven project management experience in a multidisciplinary environment on small and large water environment and energy related projects.
Experience in successful technical delivery of projects.
Results orientated, with a reputation for, and demonstrated achievement of key strategic priorities.
Strong organizational ability to optimize and prioritize conflicting demands in a busy environment, to achieve deadlines and see responsibilities through to completion.
Experience in working in a technical leadership role within a multi-disciplinary team.
